Systems Engineering Resources Catalog and Introductory Videos

Introduction
Welcome to the WIRED System Engineering Development Program – an initiative developed under the WIRED grant from the US Department of Labor and administered by the California Space Authority.

The program, developed under the leadership of The Aerospace Corporation and its project partners California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo) and the California Space Education Workforce Institute, is designed for degreed engineers who are currently employed, and who have a need and/or desire to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies in System Engineering.

For working engineers, the path to System Engineering education presents some challenges. Many of the System Engineering curriculum provided by academia require a constrained time commitment, e.g. semesters-long courses taught during working hours, or weeks-long, full-time certificate programs. Additionally, they cover prescribed subjects irrespective of the innate knowledge of the working engineer.

The program consists of two sections - The Systems Engineering Resources Catalog and the Systems Engineering Introductory Course Content. The Course Content, in the form of vidoes and power point presentations are listed below. The videos are for reference/introduction and are in no way meant to supplement for a Systems Engineering Course provided by a live instructor. The videos, as an introduction, are designed to inform the viewer who then may use the Systmes Engineering Resources Catalog to search for courses that they may take that will cover a subject in more detail than these courses have been designed to do.

The overall goal of this program is to fill the System Engineering void by enabling working engineers to seek secondary education in a manner compatible with their needs and availability. It allows them to study where and when they can, what subject matter they need, and at cost they can accept. The Course Catalog allows them to find these courses, the course videos listed below are provided as an introduction to the subject systems engineering and some of its more focused disciplines.

Course videos are listed on the left, with the corresponding power point presentation listed as well. Power point presentations are shown within the course video, but it is reccomeneded that you download the presentation for reference.

WARNING:
The videos below all exceed 500 Mb in order to make all content viewable. A high speed internet connection is required to download these videos.

All videos are iTunes and Quicktime compatible.
