About
Objective: The Educator Launch Conferences Project was created to develop conferences geared towards science educators, to provide real-world and relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) training for teachers of grades K-12. It will provide "hands-on, minds-on" curriculum and activities to be used in the classroom, to educate and inspire students. It will also allow K-12 teachers to connect with scientists and engineers involved in satellite and rocket launch missions. Finally, the project will support teachers via teacher networks that develop and disseminate real-world STEM curriculum and relevant activities. Desired Outcomes: - Provide K-12 teachers with hands-on curriculum and experiences connected to practical usage of STEM knowledge. - Host conferences to recruit co-sponsors and workshop presenters, scientist dinner speakers, and conference registration. - 150 teachers will participate in the teacher conferences, resulting in a greater depth of understanding of the science innovation, satellite and rocket launch missions.
