About
Objective: The Mechatronics/Engineering Technology/Technical Student Recruitment project was created to pilot a community college industrial technology-based degree in Mechatronics, in coordination with the demonstration of student recruitment strategies for technical programs with certification potential. It will borrow relevant curriculum from the CCC Nebraska Mechatronics program, develop outreach programs at the junior high, high school and college levels, and work with four-year colleges and universities to establish ongoing articulation agreements, in connection with Project 3.5 - STEM Collaborative Action Plan. Desired Outcomes: - Develop and pilot community college industrial-based degree in Mechatronics in coordination with the demonstration of student recruitment strategies for technical certification programs. - Develop and execute recruitment strategies to increase student interest in an engineering technology-based curriculum, evaluate the impact of the strategies, and provide a working model for replication.
