About
1.1 Deliverables
Objective: Developed a 34 page study on R&D expenditures and support in CA ranging from 2004 - 2007
Title: Overview of California State-Funded R&D, 2004-2007: - Understanding the State's Role in Shaping R&D Spending
This project explores:
-Available data on R&D spending by California
-What is not possible to know and understand with the current data being gathered at the State and Federal level
-Suggested approaches for California to collect additional data needed for a more comprehensive overview of the state's R&D spending
CCST produced a study highlighting the State's expenditure and support provided by the State of California for Research and Development. In viewing the funding provided by the State of California, (CA is larger than many countries and, if its' economy were separated from the United States economy, would represent one of the top ten economies in the world), this document allows for the comparison of California's impact on R&D compared to other States and Nations. Additionally, it is possible to see what other States are doing to support and direct technology development. This allows Economic Development and Technology Development professionals gauge what support may be available for initiatives and for the specific sectors they are attempting to influence in different regions or through what universities.
