About
Objective: The Dislocated Software Specialists project is an industry-driven pilot training program to retrain dislocated software engineers for space-related information technology positions. The course will take place over four months, and will consist of an intensive certification program for up to 28 such software engineers. Upon completion, they will be eligible to apply for positions in the aerospace and defense industries. An advisory panel of industry specialists will offer input and participation in the process of curriculum development to optimize successful employment. Desired Outcomes: - Develop an innovative training program to transition laid-off software engineers into space-related information technology positions. - 28 students will complete the training program. - Students will be placed in a space-related company utilizing the skills learned in the program.
