About
Objective: The Space-Related University Programs project is designed to provide space-related experiential university internships and mentoring programs to college and lower level students across the California Innovation Corridor. Students will be engaged in research-focused balloon flights, payload development, and rocket launches. Students will gain real experience in testing, integration, rocket development and launching, student payload development, and then create a report of their results, and give a presentation of results at an annual conference. Desired Outcomes: - Coordinate development and supervise integration of payloads for K-12 students. - Coordinate development and supervise integration of payloads for University students. - Provide initial flight testing with high-altitude balloon flights and supervise the development of student payloads. - Support students in data analysis and reporting of their results. - Sponsor an annual conference for students to present their results and interact with other students in the Program. - Assist with planning future payloads, and provide suggestions for improvements in payloads and payload integration. - Provide opportunities to build and integrate a rocket as well as payload integration.
