About
Organization: The Private Industry Council of San Luis Obispo County (SLO-PIC) is a private, nonprofit corporation that provides its services throughout San Luis Obispo County. SLO-PIC receives federal money that is used to pay the cost of educating and training local residents and placing them into local jobs. This funding is used partly to pay staff who provide assessment, testing, counseling, training, and job placement services, and is also used partly to pay the costs of school and training for job seekers. The remainder of these funds are used to pay employers for their training costs when they hire and prepare SLO-PIC's trainees. SLO-PIC is a partner on one WIRED project. Tasks: Project 3.1 - Workforce Analysis: - With partners, generate a minimum of 200 company responses to project survey. - Analyze data and develop a final report of the survey results, publicize and disseminate results, and develop and share strategies to address identified training and education gaps across the Corridor.
Partnerships with other relevant organizations: Economic Vitality Corporation, Workforce Investment Board, local chambers of commerce, variety of employers in a variety of trades.
