About
Organization: The Lancaster University Center (LUC) was developed as an educational partnership between California State University, Bakersfield, California State University, Fresno, and the City of Lancaster. It is designed to bring previously unavailable academic programs in electrical and mechanical engineering to students in the Antelope Valley. The program is structured such that students complete their first two years of coursework at Antelope Valley College and then matriculate to California State University, Fresno for their third and fourth year courses. Classroom instruction integrates live instructors and distance-learning technology. State-of-the-art laboratory facilities are currently under construction, funded through generous donations from the Air Force Research Laboratory, Edwards Air Force Base Flight Test Center, and the City of Lancaster. Courses in both programs are currently being offered at the LUC. LUC is a partner on one WIRED project. Tasks: Project 3.11 - Mechatronics/Tech Cert Recruitment: - Development of an industrial technology-based Mechatronics degree program. - Develop successful student recruitment strategies with partners, technical certification programs, resulting in increased numbers of students interested in enrolling in technical certification programs.
