About
Organization: The City of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board (LACity-WIB) was created to develop, in concert with the Mayor and City Council, policy and strategy to ensure that business has access to a trained workforce and workers have access to quality jobs. LACity-WIB promotes economic well-being locally by improving employment opportunities for workers by: enriching their knowledge base, growing their skill set, and identifying job openings; providing tax incentives, benefits and other support services to businesses; and guiding the city's workforce policy priorities and investments. Individual board members are appointed by the Mayor, and are selected from the leadership ranks of the education, economic development, and organized labor fields as well as other key players in the Los Angeles economy. LACity-WIB is a partner on one WIRED project. Tasks: Project 3.1 - Workforce Analysis: - With partners, generate a minimum of 200 company responses to the project survey, and develop and publicize a final report of the survey results. - Develop strategies to address identified training and education gaps, and share strategies across the 9 regions and the entire Corridor.
