About
Organization: The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is a research university committed to the creation and transmission of knowledge at the highest level, and to the translation of that knowledge for the public good. Their mission is to provide a high quality learning environment for undergraduate and graduate students; advance human knowledge and accomplishment through research and scholarship; enhance the public good through community service and initiatives; and to seek preeminence among American research universities. UCR is a partner on one WIRED project and a supporter on another; both projects are listed below. Tasks: Project 1.3 - Inventory of Key Innovation Assets: - Identification and profiling of a minimum of 140 California Innovation Corridor Innovation Assets (Federal and private Research and Development labs, military installations, college/university research centers and private companies). - Add the 140 profiles to Connectory.com. Design an economic development resource database tool (Corridor Innovative Asset Portal) to house the 140 profiles, as a Corridor Portal. Project 1.5 - Joint University Innovation Model: - With partners, establish a base line for identification of existing literature that studies the issues of the innovation environment. - Determine the viability of replication of the model in the Inland Empire and other regions of the Corridor, to accelerate the pace of commercializing innovation. - Leverage the technology transfer model from the "TechHorizons UCR: Connecting Engineering Research to the Market" event.
