Organization:
Allan Hancock College is one of 108 California public community colleges. It serves all of northern Santa Barbara county and parts of San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties at campuses in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Solvang, and Vandenberg Air Force Base. Each semester, approximately 10,000 enrolled students attend more than 1,300 courses offered in over 100 fields of study via 9 academic departments. Another 5,500 students enroll in the community education program each semester. The college offers opportunities for those who want to complete the first two years of a bachelor's degree, earn an associate degree, prepare for a career, upgrade their skills, or pursue lifelong learning. AHC is a lead partner on one WIRED project. Tasks:
Project 3.11 - Mechatronics/Engineering Technology/Technical Student Recruitment:
- As project lead, AHC will develop a pilot industrial technology-based associate degree program in Mechatronics.
- AHC will work with partners to develop successful student recruitment strategies for engineering technology/technical programs, evaluate the impact of the strategies, and provide a working model for replication.
