About
Organization: Golden Capital Network (Golden) is a nonprofit networking, training and consulting group that fosters growth entrepreneurship and early stage investing as an engine for economic growth. Its services and activities include: a Premier Venture Capital conference series; the Venture Communities economic development franchise; regional and cross-regional entrepreneurship training programs; investor networking and showcasing; entrepreneur coaching and mentoring; public policy leadership and advising; and early-stage company showcasing. Golden is a partner on two WIRED projects, listed below. Tasks: Project 1.1 - Economic Development Innovation Toolkit: - With partners, conduct on-site, in-depth field training sessions with local champion(s) and other stakeholders within each of the three pilot communities, training partner organizations and their stakeholder committees in successfully operating Venture Communities. - Implement process and database for data collection and computer-generated report system, providing real-time market intelligence on the innovation entrepreneur and investment sectors in each of the pilot regions. Project 1.4 - Innovation-Based Entrepreneurial Ventures: - With partners, organize and execute a kick-off forum designed to identify, select, train, and showcase at least 40 innovation-based entrepreneurial ventures, to be deemed Innovation All-Stars. - Determine metrics to track the progress of All-Stars throughout the life of the project, including key benchmarking data from all attendees and All-Stars in particular, in order to measure a community innovation index on an ongoing basis.
