Dr. Burton Lee, PhD, MBA
"Private Investment in Aerospace Technologies and Markets"

Dr. Lee will discuss the general topic of private equity investment and finance as applied to aerospace technologies and markets. Following a review some of the technologies previously presented during the AA247 seminar from the perspective of a prospective angel or venture capital investor interested in assessing a technology's risk-return profile, Burton will also outline the current work of Space Angels Network in developing a national network of accredited investors focused on seed and early stage aerospace-related investment opportunities. Finally, Dr. Lee addresses relevant aerospace sector innovation policy issues, and the need for the US aerospace sector and associated federal government agencies to pay increased attention to the development of an efficient and high-impact innovation pipeline that both supports and rewards aviation- and space-related startup companies on a sustained basis.
