Susan L. Sloan
Vice President of Performance Excellence
Raytheon, Space and Airborne Systems (SAS)
Susan L. Sloan is the vice president of Performance Excellence (PE) for Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business and a member of the SAS Leadership Team. The PE organization within SAS combines Quality, Raytheon Six Sigma, and independent technical oversight across SAS business areas and functions resulting in “no doubt” mission success for SAS customers/war fighters.
Ms. Sloan has 25 years of experience in program management, systems engineering, engineering, and operations/quality management. Before her current position she led the Raytheon SAS Strategic Systems (SS) Operations organization, which produces key technologies including optics, radar, infrared, on-orbit checkout and calibration, and signal and data processing. She was responsible for the execution of all operations aspects for SS, including capital investments, facilities management and engineering support. Previously, Ms. Sloan was division director for Operations Product Manufacturing at Boeing Satellite Systems (BSS), which is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial communications satellites, and a major provider of space systems, satellites and payloads for national defense, science and environmental applications. Ms. Sloan completed the prestigious Boeing Executive Global Leadership Program, and prior, Boeing Executive Leadership training. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA (under the Hughes Executive Scholar Program) from the University of Southern California. She is a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and International Women in Aviation.
